Guide
A Nigerian birth certificate is issued by the National Population Commission. This guide explains who registers a birth, what the NPC asks for, what late registration involves, and which fields appear on the NPC form so your copy matches the official layout.
Births in Nigeria are registered by the National Population Commission (NPC). Registration is done at the NPC registration centre in the local government area where the birth happened, or at the hospital's registration desk where one is available.
Typically required: the hospital record or attestation of birth, the parents' means of identification, and details of the place of birth. Registration within the first 60 days of birth is treated as timely registration.
Births reported after the statutory window go through late registration, which usually needs an affidavit or a declaration of age plus supporting evidence such as school records or an attestation letter.
The NPC issues the certificate on its official stationery, signed and stamped by the registrar. Certified true copies can be requested later from the same registration centre.
DocMint gives you the NPC layout with every field editable, plus your own letterhead logo, watermark, colours and alignment. Export a clean A4 PDF that prints without cropping.
DocMint is a document design tool. It does not issue government certificates or replace NPC registration.
